WABI-SABI
侘び寂び
In traditional Japanese aesthetics, wabi-sabi (侘び寂び) is a world view centred on the acceptance of transience and imperfection.
Explaining wabi-sabi (侘び寂び) through the art of Kintsugi (金継ぎ)
Kintsugi (金継ぎ) "golden joinery", also known as kintsukuroi (金繕い) "golden repair", is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with urushi lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum.
This technique not only restores the object's functionality but also highlights its history and imperfections, turning it into a beautiful and unique piece of art. Symbolically, Kintsugi represents the beauty of embracing flaws and imperfections as part of one's history and journey.
Similar to the philosophy of Wabi-Sabi (侘び寂び) and the art of Kintsugi (金継ぎ), at Kai Clinic we believe in enhancing what is already beautiful and helping individuals who may not feel confident in their own skin. Our approach focuses on enhancing natural features and promoting self-esteem, emphasizing that imperfections are a part of our unique journey and can be celebrated.
The Kai Clinic has a heartfelt connection with mental health specialists, offering patients access to additional support and information on topics like body image, body dysmorphia, self-esteem, and related concerns.
